What is the best purchase you have ever made?

The best purchase I have ever made is an OTG. I make whatever my heart wishes. I wanted to make healthy food, and always wanted to eat nice cakes.

My trust with an OTG happened in a serviced apartment in Saudi Arabia. The hotel provided it. I learnt to use it because I was curious. It was a nice OTG with lights inside. I have memories around it. A hot oven etched its mark by burning my hand that tried to pull out the tin pan.

It was my first job in the beautiful country, Saudi Arabia, the land of plenty and beauty and hardship too.

I was born in a family which had limited resources. Besides, my parents were concerned, that our relatives who are poor will feel bad if we have a better things. So my parents made it a point that they will share whatever they have.

So, it cultivated in us a habit of parsimony and we never became greedy. On Sundays, we baked. This is pizza with home made tomato sauce.

We have a sweet tooth. We means my spouse and I. There was a time, my husband chose to have only sweets for breakfast but I put a ban on “only sweets.” Sweets and plain tea or an omlette was my suggestion.

I love hoje baked breads. Though, I haven’t mastered bread, my spouse has. This is a bread made of curd or yoghurt and all purpose flour. We have topped the bread with loads of flax seeds and sesame seeds.

Thus time we did not try cakes, instead we tried cookies.

These are chocolate cookies. Buttery and delicious. Crispy but melts in the mouth.
