I attended the top colleges in India. The education quality is too good for anyone to get a job directly without any reference etc.
I studied Arts mostly but the small companies are not a good place to work. Big companies are tough to get into because they hire through reference.

Did you get a job directly from University? Was it a graduate program or straight into the employment field?

I did my Masters in sociology and I attended interviews in all private companies and cracked all interviews. Private companies look for skill. I had already written a project report which I displayed as ability to write reports and my English was good in the sense I scored well in all written exams.
