Mithun Sarkar has been living in Bangalore over 9 years and have picked up Kannada but in an alteration with a person belonging to his class, a delivery man, Sarkar badmouthed him. He later explained that his master did not pay him for the past several months, so he took out his anger on his fellow class person.
This is how oppressed class behave when unable to gain justice against an employer who is the reason for his unhappiness.
An FIR was registered under:
- Section 196 (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of language, place of birth, etc.) and
- Section 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as per a senior police officer (quoted by TOI).
