Then industrialization happened, common people started getting salaries and businesses expanded to reach more people. The imitation of the rich continued. In films, we saw the rich celebrated birthdays and other events.

Now salaried people started emulating those on screen people. Welcome to the world of consumerism. Unfortunately, jobs are reducing. I don’t know how long people will continue with this exaggerated birthday celebrations, marriage anniversaries, big fat weddings and so on.
