Not long ago, a student from Oxford proved that IIT entrance exam is an overhyped exam and solved the paper in 40 minutes or so. When one writes IIT exam, it is expected that one is interested in engineering.
If somebody loves engineering, one cannot become a sadhu. Opting for asceticism means that person never understood engineering. He has good memory, practised the subjects and cleared the exam.
Engineering and Asceticism are two different things – Diametrically opposite except the practise of meditation, fasting and giving up the comforts of life. One passout from a B grade engineering college made so much wealth out of asceticism that he bought a place and named it Kailasha.
Even a woman like Mamata Kulkarni, a B grade film actress, who was found connected with drug smuggling and mafia also became an ascetic.
However, the IITian ascetic has informed that a majority of the ascetics are uneducated and have criminal background. So, educated people can throw some light into the business and a person with reasonable intelligence should understand who they should follow.
There were several stampedes during this gathering and some tents caught fire, and not to forget girl child abandonment in the akharas was also found happening during this holy mela when some NGOs and bloggers took note of it and the public informed about it.
