Death due to DJ
Recently news surfaced related to deaths of young people dying during loud music in India. First and foremost people are malnourished and the music that people play in the streets during festivals is too loud for people to rest and sleep well.
I myself have observed news on death related DJ in Delhi for the last 5 years. People in Delhi have been murdered for complaining. People in Kolkata used to be harassed for complaining about loud music.
Recently, the death of a North East person became news in Delhi but people ignore all these deaths. They light a candle and then carry on as it was earlier. Most of the deaths are happening in low income colonies and places near wedding halls and function halls. During festivals, the noise is unbearable.
I think people should take note of this.
People across classes don’t have jobs and they will engage in all kinds of vulgarity possible during the festivals. Not only service delivery and service provider people, people who participate in these large scale festive activities are all ready to dance to groove with raunchy songs in vulgar clothes contribute to this nonsense. In a drunken revelry, people injure and kill others, abuse substances and engage in it illegal activities.
Raunchy music, vulgar fun,, drinking are a great trigger for repressed sexuality and quick money through betting and consequent misbehavior of a public that shelves away brain when it comes to community well-being.
Respect is not in the dictionary in a caste society. Hence the violence is higher. If the middle class and upwardly mobile class has some self respect, instead of seeking licence for revealing clothes and lecherous activities, they should ask the government to permit music within certain hours only and below a certain decibel. In the latter, there is some security.
