Daily writing prompt
What’s the most profound piece of advice you’ve been given? Did you take it?

I have a habit of reading books and long articles but at the end I remember very less. So, many youngsters told me to use chatgpt or AI.

But I know chatgpt or AI make mistakes, so I avoid it. Recently, commonwealth Short story prize 2026 went to authors who used AI.

Yes, machine takes over

Though there was a lot of lecture by the industry experts who said creative work is here to stay and machine can’t take it all.

But, I always had a doubt. If machines can traslate they can move to creative fields as well.

So, we are useless now.

All are equal before machine. Machine is the ultimate Equalizer. I felt this when I read people’s profile and their writings and posts every day.

In Bangla like English websites AI is heavily used particularly because of our neighbouring country, Bangladesh. They translate English articles at a speed which takes a massive time for us to read and reproduce. They add voiceover in Bangla to Indonesian and Chinese videos.

As a reviewer of two journals, I come across article which does not read like human writing. Without cross-checking those articles with any machine, I used to point out the gaps, structure and indicate that this cannot be a product of so many professors because how did they not notice that they did not write the hypothesis.

There are videos who sell AI tools to users who cannot write academic English. These tools seem to create a level playing ground for people who have not been able to master English and those who have mastered English.

With the rise of agencies claiming to write papers, vouching for publication in Scopus, obviously raises the question who are these big brains?

This year commonwealth prize went to people who used AI and people were able to catch this misuse.

Some of the books in Bengali that must be read and are relevant to the contemporary times is presented below. Books written with sweat are different from one’s assisted by AI.
