Fully nutritious – A fish meal

A nutritious meal is a balanced meal – a combination of fish and vegetables.

Eastern part of India is blessed with plenty of rivers and fish. Being Bengalis, we delight our senses with fish.

Fish curry:

Marinate the fish with turmeric and salt. Heat oil, Then, saute fish in oil.

Then add all spices you like. We added white jeera, black jeera, cardamom, ginger, garlic, hing, and then water. Let it come to a boil.

Add mustard-poppy seeds-coconut paste into the water. Then, add turmeric and boil. When the colour of the gravy turns lemon yellow colour, add the fish, cover and cook. When the fish is almost cooked, add tamarind. Cook for some more time in low flame. When the gravy has thickened, switch off the gas.
