Staying home allows me to read books and think and I come across a lot of content on spirituality online. Recently the murder case of a child brings me to thinking about certain things which is very normal among people.

The epic Mahabharata often repeats a line which is like “one’s own name is the sweetest thing of any individual”. I personally don’t believe this. Names are given by someone else other than the person. So, why should one find a name given to one without an option being given to choose any be the sweetest thing of all.

Parents or relatives name children. The recent case of murder of a four year old child by the mother whose name is “su-chetana” made me laugh a lot.

Why did I laugh? The people who named a female child su-chetana which is gender neutral should be noted that the giver of the name did not attain the consciousness itself.

Consciousness means knowledge and knowledge is the state of mind. It has got nothing to do with good consciousness or bad consciousness. Consciousness is needed to understand the good, the bad and the ugly. Here the woman interestingly did not grow up to understand any of it. She grew up to be a basic consumer.

She was definitely a well read person because the epic Mahabharata is full of killings and it refers to incidents of the goddess, Ganga, killing her own children by drowning them. Son killing the mother at the mere suspicion and orders of the mother.
