This is not very popular in West Bengal. When I went to study outside, I came to taste. Preparation of Black chickpeas in a Malayali household. It was okay kind of a dish.

As our tastes are acquired, I did not find it interesting. But when I ate the same thing from Bihari chatwalas, I liked it. The chaat masala added to the boiled chana just made it delicious.

I prepared it the way we make the potato mash in paani poori. Give a seasoning to the boiled chana with onion, chilli, tomato and garlic.

Alternately, you can add raw onions and tomatoes and chaat masala to the boiled chana and serve it with a dash of lemon.
